22 Feb 2019: SME HR Series on Cybersecurity, Workplace Digitalisation and Government Support Programmes

Lifelong Learning Institute Event Hall 1-1 & 1-2 (11 Eunos Road 8, Singapore 408601)

The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) will be organising a SME HR Series on Cybersecurity, Workplace Digitalisation and Government Support Programmes on Friday, 22 February 2019.

As organisations embark on their digital transformation journey, business leaders tend to focus more on technologies and neglect the human element. In the core of transformation of any sorts are the people in the organisation. While organisations are transmitting towards digitalisation, HR needs to be well-equipped with knowledge to guide their employees. SAGE is specialised in digitalisation for HR, payroll and Women in Tech. As rest of the world gets digitalised, HR and Payroll is experiencing the same transformation. The session will share guidelines and pitfalls for organisations to look out for. They will also touch on how women could play a crucial role in technology as a user, developer, and a growth catalyst.

SNEF will introduce two programmes under the Adapt and Grow Initiative on recruitment, training and retention of PMETs. The P-Max Place-and-Train Programme aims to facilitate the entry of PMETs into suitable SME* jobs. Upon successful completion of the programmes,
companies will receive a one-time Assistance Grant of $5,000. Following which, Enhanced Career Support Programme (CSP) encourages employers to tap on wealth of experience that mature PMETs can bring to the workplace. PMETs that are unemployed for six months or more, in mid-level jobs that pay $3,600 will be given wage support for up to 18 months.

Organisations have neglected the importance of cybersecurity. But the growing stream of recent large-scale attacks in the past year driven more urgency around this topic today. Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP) will share insight of the preventive measures for cyber attack. The business environment had evolved tremendously. Business digital transformation initiatives of today makes formulating an IT plan less simple than it used to be a few years before. Many businesses today process large amounts of confidential customer or employee data daily.
