The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) will be organising a SME Workshop on Government Support Programmes and HR Solutions on 29 Oct 2018.
SMEs could develop a strong Singaporean core in a manpower-lean economy through enhanced programmes under the Adapt & Grow Initiative announced by the Ministry of Manpower. In addition to sharing on employment facilitation assistance for SMEs, Workforce Singapore (WSG) will brief on the various programmes such as Enhanced Career Support Programme, Work Trial and Jobsbank.
As employers, recruitment to acquire experienced individuals are imperative to build the talent pool for business expansion regionally. The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) will share on Professional Career Programme (PCP) for Southeast Asia Ready Talents to assist mid-career professionals and unemployed PMETs – in career switches into sectors like wholesale trade and logistics.
Following which, International Trading Institute @ Singapore Management University (ITI@SMU) in partnership with Enterprise Singapore, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Academy and WSG will introduce the International Trading PCP designed to give participants a first-hand, immersive experience of the international trading environment and the wholesale trading value chain. Stretched across one year, the three phased part-time programme provides an immersive and enriching experience, where classroom training is blended with e-learning component, and enhanced with seminars with industry experts, site visits to companies and project work.
Lastly, SNEF will share the P-Max Place-and-Train Programme which aims to facilitate the entry of PMETs into suitable SME jobs and help SMEs better cope with the challenges of talent recruitment in an increasingly tight labour market. Upon successful completion of the programme, SMEs will be eligible for a one-time Assistance Grant of $5,000.
